I'm Rob Wilkie, a software engineer based in Belfast.

I build web applications and cloud infrastructure — mostly TypeScript and React on the front end, with serverless AWS services behind them. Below is a rundown of where I've worked and what I studied.

Experience building client/server systems using Java. Experience building microservices using the Spring framework.

AWS

Experienced working with AWS, strong knowledge of AWS Cloud Development Kit for defining cloud infrastructures as code.

Experience cleaning data using Python and developing REST APIs using Flask.

HTML & CSS

Comprehensive knowledge of HTML and CSS, familiar with SCSS and other preprocessed stylesheet languages.

Database

Experienced using SQL databases such as PostgreSQL & MySQL, and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and DynamoDB.

Effective use of AI as a development tool — Claude and ChatGPT for scaffolding, review and working through unfamiliar APIs, with output treated as a draft to verify rather than accept.
